TIMP Line 235 and Line 3000 El Dorado-Lugo-Mohave Alternating Current Pipeline Mitigation Project (Project) (LSAA No. EPIMS-SBR-58560-R6)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has issued Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-SBR-58560-R6 to Southern California Gas Company (SoCal Gas) under Fish and Game Code section 1602 to authorize the installation of alternating current mitigation systems along pipeline segments L235 and L3000 in California. The project entails placing 2/0 copper grounding cables within ten feet of the pipelines to mitigate induced AC voltage and corrosion, alongside installing solid state decouplers and coupon test stations to monitor and manage electrical interference. Work activities are confined to specific geographic sections of the pipelines across multiple work areas designated as NWW-692, NWW-181, NWW-499, and others, all located within the state. The project imposes extensive environmental protection obligations including daily clearance surveys for wildlife entrapments, pre-construction biological surveys for special-status species like burrowing owls and Mohave ground squirrels, and mandatory reporting of any observed protected species to the California Natural Diversity Database within five working days and to CDFW within seven calendar days. Dead or injured endangered or fully protected species must be reported within 24 hours, and any agreement violation or construction suspension exceeding 30 days requires immediate notification.
