TIMP Line 235 and Line 3000 El Dorado-Lugo-Mohave Alternating Current Pipeline Mitigation Project (Project) (LSAA No. EPIMS-SBR-58560-R6)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has entered into Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-SBR-58560-R6 with Southern California Gas Company for the TIMP Line 235 and Line 3000 El Dorado-Lugo-Mohave Alternating Current Pipeline Mitigation Project. This project involves installing alternating current mitigation systems, including 2/0 copper grounding cables, solid state decouplers, and coupon test stations to reduce corrosion and monitor AC interference. The work occurs at 248 locations across unnamed desert washes in San Bernardino County, specifically targeting sections of pipeline L235 from post mile 45.53 to 104.90 and pipeline L3000 from post mile 100.90 to 114.30. The agreement is scheduled to expire on June 17, 2030. The project is governed by Fish and Game Code sections 1602 and 1603, requiring strict adherence to environmental protection measures. Key requirements include restricting streambed work to dry weather and periods of no stream flow, implementing invasive species prevention best management practices, and conducting mandatory on-site education for all personnel. A Designated Biologist must be present to conduct compliance inspections and has the authority to stop any activity that threatens fish and wildlife resources. Additionally, the agreement prohibits the take of state or federally listed species and mandates vehicle and equipment inspections for desert tortoises and other wildlife before movement.
