TOWN OF AYER - NEW SENIOR CENTER PROJECT

The Town of Ayer is soliciting bids for the construction of a new Senior Center project under solicitation number BD-26-1652-COA82-COA-133763. This general construction project, conducted pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 149, involves the creation of a two-story building approximately 13,000 square feet in size, including all necessary sitework and utilities. The project is managed by the Council on Aging and the Department of Public Works, with Daniel Van Schalkwyk serving as the Purchaser and Lora Prescott as the DPW contact. This procurement follows a two-phase process where only prequalified general and subcontractor firms are eligible to bid. To have achieved prequalification, firms were required to meet minimum category points and earn an overall score of at least 70 points in accordance with MGL Chapter 149 Section 44D. Eligible firms may only submit bids for the specific categories of work for which they were prequalified. Trade sub-bid submissions are due by October 21, 2026, at 2:00pm, and general bid submissions are due by November 4, 2026, at 2:00pm.
