The Town of Drumheller is seeking an engineering firm to conduct a detailed condition assessment and design services for two culverts, one beneath 4th Avenue Southwest and another beneath Newcastle Trail roadway. The Newcastle Trail culvert, constructed in 1958 as a box culvert, has a recent visual inspection report from April 2020 which identifies any visible defects or structural concerns, and this report will be provided to bidders. In contrast, no formal inspection report exists for the 4th Avenue Southwest culvert, although prior work involving a buried culvert on the north side of 4th Avenue was carried out in the early 2000s. The aim is to combine the assessments of both culverts into a single project to evaluate their conditions comprehensively and identify any structural deficiencies. The selected engineering firm will be responsible for completing all tasks specified in Schedule A through to the tendering stage, which includes condition assessments, recommendations for repairs, preliminary to detailed design (up to 60% and Issued for Tender drawings), project timelines, and cost estimates. Construction administration and services such as Issued for Construction drawings, record drawings, and warranty follow-up are excluded from this phase and will be part of a subsequent Stage 2. Proposals are due by February 5, 2026, and the contracting authority for this project is Connor Schweder. The location of performance is in Alberta, and additional details, including the procurement link, are available through the Government of Canada's procurement portal.

The Town is seeking an engineering firm to complete a comprehensive condition assessment of two (2) separate culverts: one (1) located beneath 4th Avenue Southwest and one (1) beneath Newcastle Trail roadway. The Newcastle Trail culvert was constructed in 1958 as a box culvert. A bridge/culvert inspection was completed on April 29, 2020, consisting of a visual condition assessment to identify any observable defects or structural concerns. This inspection report will be provided to proponents as part of the supporting documentation for this project. No formal inspection report currently exists for the 4th Avenue Southwest culvert. However, work was completed on the north side of 4th Avenue roadway in early 2000s of a new buried culvert over the playground area. The Town intends to combine both culverts into a single project and is seeking a proponent to review existing conditions and provide a detailed engineering assessment to determine the structural deficiencies. The selected engineering firm will be required to complete all tasks outlined in Schedule A up to and including the tendering phase. This scope will include condition assessments, recommended remedial actions, design (60%, IFT drawings), timelines, and cost estimates. Construction administration services will be excluded from this phase and considered as Stage 2 services, to be completed through construction, IFC drawings , record drawings and warranty periods.
