Town of Drumheller - Request for Proposal - Culvert Condition Assessment & Design Services

The Town of Drumheller is seeking an engineering firm to conduct a detailed condition assessment and design services for two culverts, one beneath 4th Avenue Southwest and another beneath Newcastle Trail roadway. The Newcastle Trail culvert, constructed in 1958 as a box culvert, has a recent visual inspection report from April 2020 which identifies any visible defects or structural concerns, and this report will be provided to bidders. In contrast, no formal inspection report exists for the 4th Avenue Southwest culvert, although prior work involving a buried culvert on the north side of 4th Avenue was carried out in the early 2000s. The aim is to combine the assessments of both culverts into a single project to evaluate their conditions comprehensively and identify any structural deficiencies. The selected engineering firm will be responsible for completing all tasks specified in Schedule A through to the tendering stage, which includes condition assessments, recommendations for repairs, preliminary to detailed design (up to 60% and Issued for Tender drawings), project timelines, and cost estimates. Construction administration and services such as Issued for Construction drawings, record drawings, and warranty follow-up are excluded from this phase and will be part of a subsequent Stage 2.
