**Description:**
The U.S. Army requires a precise long-range munition capability that improves the lethality, stand-off, and operational flexibility of aviation and ground forces in anti-access/area-denial (A2AD) and positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT)-denied environments. The Long Range Precision Munition (LRPM) effort supports the lethal variant of the Launched Effects Family of Systems by integrating a commercial or modified commercial air vehicle with U.S. Government-developed payload, launch, mission system, and battle-management technologies into a fieldable all-up-round prototype capability.
The Government seeks prototype approaches capable of continuing integration, testing, qualification, documentation, delivery, and sustainment of LRPM all-up-rounds that combine commercial air vehicle technologies with Government payload and mission-system components. Prototype activities include Model Based Systems Engineering, integration of Government payload section technologies, hardware-in-the-loop and weapons integration testing, developmental and qualification testing, safety and airworthiness support, software and firmware integration, cybersecurity validation, product assurance, packaging, training, and fielded sustainment support.
This effort is intended to produce decision-quality technical, operational, safety, manufacturing, cybersecurity, logistics, and transition evidence supporting fieldable LRPM prototype deliveries and potential follow-on production. The prototype posture should preserve technical agility while producing reusable integration models, technical documentation, interface data, manufacturing readiness evidence, operator support materials, and sustainment artifacts that enable the Government to evaluate operational utility, system readiness, supply-chain maturity, and fielding viability across multiple operational contexts.
## Problem Statement
**Problem Statement:**
Army aviation and ground forces require a precise, long-range lethal launched-effects capability that can rapidly respond to combat conditions, improve warfighter stand-off, and operate in contested environments where A2AD threats and PNT degradation constrain conventional engagement options.
The LRPM capability cannot be fielded as a simple commercial item because operational utility depends on successful integration of Government payload and mission-system components with a compatible air vehicle, software, launch interfaces, packaging, quality systems, safety release requirements, airworthiness certification pathways, cybersecurity evidence, and sustainment support. A prototype-driven Other Transaction Authority (OTA) approach is required to validate integrated performance, qualify critical interfaces, reduce technical and manufacturing risk, and generate fieldable all-up-round evidence before broader operational adoption.
**Government-Furnished Information (GFI) and Technology (GFT):**
To facilitate rapid integration and competitive prototyping, the Government will provide the following GFI and Government-developed software/interfaces to cleared awardees upon award:
LRPM Payload Section Technical Data Package (GFI):
* Form, Fit, and Function (FFF) drawings, mass properties, and 3D CAD/STEP models for the U.S. Government-designed payload assembly, including: * Long-Wave Infrared (LWIR) Seeker; * Combined Effects Warhead (CEW); * Electronic Safe and Arm Device (ESAD); and * Miniaturized Front End Laser Proximity Sensor (MFELPS).
Software & Messaging Protocols (GFT):
* Multiple Simultaneous Engagement Technologies (MSET) software baseline and interface definitions. * Battle Management System (BMS) / Command and Control (C2) message schemas, command dictionaries, and datalink interface protocols. * Dispenser / Launcher Interface Data (GFI): * Mechanical and electrical Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and CAD envelopes for the Launched Effects Dispenser for Ground and Rotorcraft (LEDGR) and motor adapter.
Logistics & Packaging Baseline (GFI):
* Technical Data Package and modification specifications for the validated baseline shipping and storage container.
\*Note on Performer Responsibilities: The Government will furnish design documentation, drawings, software, and interface specifications (GFI/GFT). Unless explicitly designated as Government Furnished Property (GFP) for specific test events, all physical hardware procurement, fabrication, assembly, and system integration for the LRPM All-Up-Round (AUR) are the sole responsibility of the Performer.
## Overall Objective
**Overall Objective:**
Prototype, integrate, test and qualify fieldable LRPM all-up-round prototype capabilities that combine Government-developed payload and mission technologies with commercial or modified commercial air vehicle solutions. This effort will establish and validate the integration, software, cybersecurity, manufacturing, quality, packaging, training, and sustainment approaches necessary to advance LRPM readiness, support safety and airworthiness certification, enable operational demonstration, and deliver measurable evidence for fielding, replication, and transition decisions.
