The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) intends to issue a Request for Proposals for the award of a single firm-fixed-price construction contract for a design-bid-build project to establish a turnkey U.S. Passport Office for the U.S. Department of State at thevWallace F. Bennett Federal Building in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This notice is issued for planning purposes only and is not a solicitation.
Project Description
The project includes approximately 48,000 square feet of construction consisting of:
- A new 30,000-square-foot U.S. Passport Office;
- Tenant improvements to relocate five existing tenant agencies;
- Modifications to space occupied by a sixth tenant agency (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services) to accommodate new ABAAS-compliant restrooms; and
- Renovation of the building lobby, including security screening enhancements.
A seventh tenant agency will relocate under a separate construction contract. While outside the scope of this procurement, coordination with that effort will be required due to project sequencing.
Because the Bennett Federal Building will remain fully occupied throughout construction, the contractor will be required to execute the work in coordinated phases to maintain public access, continuous security screening operations, building functionality, and ongoing tenant operations while minimizing disruptions.
