The New York State Department of Transportation is seeking price quotes for a three-year contract, with the possibility of two additional one-year extensions, for uniforms and related services for Region 8 Fleet, covering counties including Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster, and Westchester. The procurement emphasizes the department’s authority to bypass formal competitive bidding under State Finance Law section 163(6), particularly encouraging participation from small businesses, certified disadvantaged, minority, women-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned enterprises, although the contract does not set specific participation goals. Interested vendors must communicate through designated contacts, Jennifer Walter and Otto Ambuhl, by April 3, 2025, for inquiries, with bids due by April 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM. All submissions should be sent via email and remain valid for 60 days, with late bids at the department’s discretion. The contract stipulates compliance with federal and state nondiscrimination laws, including Title VI, and mandates that all contractors and subcontractors be registered with the New York State Department of Labor before bidding or commencing work. The procurement is open to responsible vendors, with a focus on responsible pricing and reliability. The standard contractual clauses, including civil rights and general specifications, will be incorporated into the final agreement. The project’s estimated value ranges from $50,000 to $200,000, and the solicitation is posted publicly, with additional details available through the provided online link.
