AI Contract Overview
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plans to award a sole source cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to Oak Ridge Center for Risk Analysis for ongoing maintenance and updates to the NIOSH-Interactive RadioEpidemiological Program, a proprietary internet-based software tool. The contract, classified under NAICS code 541511 for custom computer programming services, will begin on August 28, 2026, and include a base year plus four one-year option periods, extending through August 27, 2031. The government explicitly states it is not seeking new software development, limiting the scope strictly to maintenance services for the existing system. The procurement is justified under FAR 6.103-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), allowing non-competitive award due to the unique nature of the software and the need for continuity with the current vendor. Interested parties may submit responses to demonstrate their capability to perform the work, but this notice is not a solicitation for competitive bids. All submissions must be emailed to Taylor Wellman at xur0@cdc.gov by 4:00 PM Eastern Time on May 11, 2026. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to proceed with a sole source award based on the responses received, and any information submitted will be used solely to support that decision. The contract will be administered by the CDC Office of Acquisition Services in Atlanta, Georgia, with no set-aside categories applicable.
