The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, seeks to procure specific acoustic telemetry components that must be fully compatible with their existing CENWW-owned systems used for juvenile salmonid research at McNary Dam. The contract includes a range of equipment such as acoustic tag data loggers, hydrophones, cables, transmitters, tag programmers, and data collection software. Notably, items like the Model 295-X Acoustic Tag Data Logger, Model 590 Hydrophones, and various micro acoustic transmitters in large quantities are specified to ensure seamless integration with the existing proprietary HTI acoustic telemetry system. The components are essential for maintaining the functionality of the Corps' telemetry operations, and the proprietary nature of the technology dictates a sole source procurement approach. Awarded under sole source justification, the contract is intended to be awarded to Hydro-acoustic Technology Inc. (HTI), the incumbent supplier, as their equipment uniquely meets the compatibility and integration requirements with the Corps’ current acoustic telemetry fleet. The acquisition falls under NAICS code 334511, with the small business size standard set at 750 employees. This solicitation is not a request for competitive proposals, but responses from responsible parties will be considered if submitted by the specified deadline. The contract supports a critical research initiative aimed at juvenile salmonid tracking, utilizing specialized, non-replicable technology that ensures continuity of data collection and system performance.
