USE OF PROPERTY AS DIP SITE AND WATER USED TO FILL WATER TENDERS USED IN FIRE SUPPRESSION EFFORTS

The Energy Minerals and Natural Resources Department of New Mexico has issued a notice of intent for an emergency purchase from Union Land and Grazing Company under NMSA 1978 Section 13-1-126. This agreement, identified by solicitation number NM-N4S-000451-103, is intended for the preservation and protection of property by utilizing private land as a dip site and for filling water tenders during fire suppression efforts. The scope of the agreement also covers firefighter staging, camping, and equipment storage, with an effective period starting August 7, 2026, and continuing through the end of the incident. The financial terms of the agreement establish a maximum payment ceiling of 10,000 dollars, with a daily rate of 500 dollars plus a charge of 0.03 dollars per gallon of water drawn. The contract includes pre-negotiated restoration terms to address road repair and re-seeding of the land. As this is a notice of intent and not yet an executed contract, alternative sources may be submitted within 15 calendar days.
