Full Description
This is a special notice prepared in accordance with Revolutionary Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Overhaul (RFO) Subpart 5.1 "Pre-solicitation."
U.S. Forest Service intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract with Frontier Precision Inc. The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) or 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) as implemented by RFO FAR 6.103-1, Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements.
The contractor shall provide Trimble brand Land Surveying GPS receivers, total stations, data collectors, and software extensively used by the USFS survey teams for survey measurements and data processing. Frontier Precision Inc., as the only Pacific Northwest region, is the only authorized distributor of Trimble brand GNSS equipment.
A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED. The Government intends to proceed with this sole source action. The NAICS code is 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing. The size standard is 600 employees for the NAICS code defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement to the Contracting Officer/Specialist before the notice end date. If no affirmative written responses are received by 10:00 AM Pacific Time on 03 June 2026, an award will be made without further notice. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
