AI Contract Overview

The contract involves a sole source intent to exercise an option to extend stevedoring and related terminal services for an additional six months at the Ports of Haifa and Ashdod in Israel, starting May 1, 2013. This extension is necessary due to the transition of contracting responsibilities from a German office to a stateside contracting office, which has created a timing challenge that prevents the reprocurement process from being completed before the contract files are transferred. The extension ensures continuity of these mission-critical services without interruption. The current provider of these services is Sassower J. LTD., based in Haifa, Israel. This notice is not an invitation for new proposals but a formal announcement of the intent to extend the contract under the existing terms and conditions. The contract is administered by the Department of Defense under solicitation number W912CM10D0030, with a NAICS code classifying it within terminal and stevedoring services operations. The move aims to prevent any service disruption during the administrative transition period.

This is notice of intent to sole source the exercise of the option to extend stevedoring and related terminal services for an additional six months in the Ports of Haifa/Ashdod, Israel, beginning 1 May 2013. This extension will alleviate any risk of a break in required mission critical services. The current contractor for these services in the Ports of Haifa/Ashdod, Israel is Sassower J. LTD., Haifa, Israel. This is not a request for proposal, only a notice of intent to sole source the exercise of the option to extend services under the current contract terms and conditions.
