The contract involves the extension of stevedoring and related terminal services at the Port of Nordenham, Germany, for an additional six months under a sole source agreement. This extension is a continuation of an existing contract awarded without competitive bidding to the same contractor, who is the sole provider of these specialized services in the port. The extension aims to ensure uninterrupted service while a new sole source contract is being negotiated by a different contracting office, which is transitioning the management of this contract from overseas to a stateside office. The original contract was awarded under solicitation number W912CM08D7500 and pertains to the NAICS code 488320, which covers support activities for water transportation. This notice is not a request for proposals but an official intention to exercise the extension clause of the original contract. Full Description

Notice of intent to sole source and exercise the extension of services clause for an additional six months of stevedoring and related terminal services in the Port of Nordenham, Germany. This extension is made to a contract originally awarded on a sole source basis. The follow on contract will also be awarded to the same sole source contractor as they are a sole provider of services in this port. The need of this extension is to alleviate any risk of break in service while the new sole source contract is negotiated with the same contractor by a new procuring contracting office. The current contracting office is transitioning this contract to a stateside contracting office, thus the time required to plan and transition these services. This is not a request for proposal only a notice of our intent to award this extension of services on a sole source basis to the current sole source contractor.
