Full Description

The IRS intends to award a sole source firm fixed price delivery order to Velocity Software, Inc for annual software maintenance support, including permission to run the software and technical support via telephone, internet and email for zVPS and includes annual Integrated Facility for Linux (IFL) for 2 engines. zVPS is a software package consisting of Velocity's mainframe-based web server for the VM operating system along with performance monitoring software for the VM operating system and TCP/IP network configuration under VM. This award is being made in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 as Velocity Software, Inc is the only source for Velocity software maintenance. Velocity does not have any authorized resellers. See attached sole source letter. The Government's requirements preclude any other's vendor's solutions. Only Velocity's software maintenance will be able to properly upgrade, update, provide patches, etc...for the Government's existing zVPS licenses. Another vendor's software maintenance would not be technically compatible with Velocity's software. In addition, Velocity's software is proprietary and Velocity does not allow another vendor to maintain its software. Software Maintenance: zVPS Long-Term Lease License Per CEC Renewal Fee Processor: 2818-W04 S/N:058AA7 Initial Year Per Engine / IFL Fee The period of performance is 10/1/2013 - 9/30/2014. The award will be made subject to the availability of funds in accordance with FAR 52.232-18. All responsible sources who are authorized resellers of Velocity Software Inc may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. These items are due no later than September 29, 2013 at 12:00 pm ET.
