Vershire Ditching and Culvert Replacement Project

The Town of Vershire is soliciting sealed bids for the Vershire Ditching and Culvert Replacement Project, identified by solicitation number 74005. The scope of work includes the installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of stone-lined ditching on Chamberlain Hill Road and the replacement of two 24-inch culverts located on Chamberlain Hill Road and Eagle Hollow Road. The contractor is responsible for excavation, installation, bedding, backfilling, and site restoration, including erosion control measures such as hydroseding and mulching. While the Town will provide the culverts, erosion stone, and bedding gravel, the contractor must transport these materials from the Town Garage to the project sites. All work must be completed by September 30, 2026, and must adhere to MUTCD traffic control standards, OSHA/VOSHA regulations, and the Vermont Municipal Roads General Permit. Bids must be submitted in a single sealed envelope to the Vershire Town Office by 4:00 PM on August 13, 2026. The submission must include a signed bid form with itemized lump sum pricing, a list of equipment, proposed subcontractors, and references from at least two similar past projects. The Town will award the contract based on a best-value trade-off, considering total price, experience, equipment availability, and the bidder's understanding of the scope. Selected contractors must provide a one-year warranty on workmanship and materials and maintain insurance coverage of $1,000,000 for both Commercial General Liability and Automobile Liability, as well as statutory Workers' Compensation.
