This VTC Upgrade project for room 1-1-4 in Battle Creek, Michigan, involves the installation of a digital audio-visual system featuring a mix-minus distributed audio setup with up to eight ceiling speakers for voice lift. The scope includes the integration of an AMX lighting control system supporting presets and dimming, as well as a video processing matrix switcher capable of handling eight DVI/RGB/Audio source locations across the moderator desk, podium, and conference table. While the government provides a baseline bill of materials, only the Tandberg/Cisco equipment is mandatory, and contractors have the flexibility to propose digital twisted pair cabling solutions to ensure future scalability. The government will remove old cabling if new infrastructure is proposed, and the standard warranty period is 90 days from sign-off, with options for contractors to extend workmanship warranties. Floor plans and system one-lines are available through the GSA to assist in the proposal process. The final submission deadline for this requirement was established as September 22, 2011.
