Full Description

The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) has a requirement to migrate all Non-secure Internet Protocol Routed Network, Secure Internet Protocol Routed Network (NIPR/SIPR) and Coalition network Personal Computing assets to Thin Client technology that will eliminate the need for local desktop processing. To meet this requirement, USASMDC must upgrade its Storage Area Network/Network Attached Storage (SAN/NAS), on which all USASMDC shared resources reside. The upgrade will consist of rep lacing much of the current SAN/NAS with new leased equipment and trading in the old equipment for monetary value that to be applied to the leasing cost. The upgraded system will have new equipment maintenance included. Execution of the upgrade must have m inimal effect on the USASMDC general user population. EMC, Inc., is the source of the current SAN/NAS solution in place at USASMDC and is the only source from which the upgrade can be obtained. The Government intends to award this effort to CDW-Government, a major reseller of EMC, Inc., which will provide the lease as EMCs preferred leasing vendor. The Government has determined that award of this effort to any other source would result in duplication of costs to the Government which cannot be recouped thro ugh competition, unacceptable delays in implementing the system upgrade, and an unacceptable risk to mission. The period of performance is one year, with the upgrade beginning immediately, and with two consecutive one year options for continued lease of th e upgraded system. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals to the U. S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, P.O. Box 1500, Huntsville, AL 35807-3801, ATTN: SMDC-RDCM-AK/Koger. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal from any source other than CDW-G; however, all proposals received will be considered by the Government. The Government point of contact for this action is O. Wayne Koger at +1 (555) 000-0000 or contact@example.gov rmy.mil.
