WIPP Transportation Services

The Department of Energy, through the Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center, has issued Request for Information solicitation 89303226NEM000001 to identify capable sources for a follow-on contract for Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Transportation Services. The scope of work involves the specialized transport of contact-handled and remote-handled transuranic waste, including materials contaminated with asbestos and polychlorinated biphenyls, between various DOE sites nationwide and the WIPP facility near Carlsbad, New Mexico. The requirement includes the provision of personnel, equipment, and a local terminal facility in Carlsbad, New Mexico, with the capacity to provide logistical and scheduling support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the ability to deploy tractors and driving teams within four hours of notice.
