The solicitation will be publicly posted within weeks on SAM.gov. The requested system aims to provide a radiation-free, realistic training environment for orthopedic guidewire navigation procedures under simulated fluoroscopy. Key technical requirements include an optical tracking system for real-time instrument positioning, a proprietary bar-coded guidewire for trajectory calculation, realistic computer-generated X-ray images, and physical anatomical models with haptic feedback that differentiate bone densities. The system must incorporate a synthetic soft-tissue layer and feature hardware including tracking cameras, a control foot pedal to switch simulated fluoroscopic views, and a pre-configured laptop with necessary software. Performance metrics such as procedure time, fluoroscopy exposure, and wire placement accuracy must be captured for trainee assessment. Additionally, the system needs to be modular to support various orthopedic training modules, validated by peer-reviewed research, and capable of distinguishing different skill levels. Respondents should provide organizational details including socioeconomic classification and identifiers such as DUNS and CAGE codes. Telephonic inquiries are not accepted, and no payment will be made for information submitted in response to this notice.
