As part of District 7's (07) efforts to support the 2028 Summer Olympic Games (LA28), we are requesting to purchase wireless 5G routers to install at CCTV locations along game route network. These items are needed to support D7's traffic management activities for LA28 Summer Olympics as Los Angeles will host many games during this event. These items are essential for ensuring reliable communication and video transmission between the CCTV site and TMC. Without them, the newly installed cameras would not operate, which would hinder real-time traffic visibility. This visibility is crucial for the TMC and Caltrans to provide timely updates to visitors, enhancing overall traffic management and safety during the event.

The project scope involves construction on State Highway Route 10, from 0.2 mile west of the Francisquito Avenue undercrossing to the Fairplex Drive overcrossing, and on Route 57, from 0.3 mile south of the Brea Canyon Road undercrossing to Gladstone. With an estimated project cost of 7.4 million dollars, the work encompasses roadway excavation, concrete removal, clearing and grubbing, and the implementation of drainage, utilities, and electrical systems. Key deliverables include pavement structural work and comprehensive traffic management, requiring the use of special portable freeway detour signs and changeable message signs to ensure the traveled way remains open when construction is not active. Compliance requirements include following Buy America/Build America standards for manufactured products, providing environmental product declarations for concrete and asphalt, and adhering to prevailing wage rates as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations or the U.S. Secretary of Labor, whichever is higher.
