Full Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Verizon Wireless, 7600 Montpelier Rd, Laurel Md, 20723 for wireless service to include broadband connect and phones with the push-to-talk feature. This procurement will increase the quantities of phones and service previously and competitively acquired. Verizon Wireless push-to-talk feature is a key feature used by the Agency. The additional phones and service will need to include the push-to-talk feature and be compatible with the phones currently in use. The push-to-talk feature must operate with ALL phones. The period of performance will be for 12 months beginning 5/1/2012. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b) "Soliciting from a Single Source." A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. If SSA does not identify any other acceptable sources capable of providing this requirement, SSA may issue a sole-source award to Verizon Wireless. The Government anticipates award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. Written responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bon-a-fide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is NOT available. Therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored. The government will not pay for any information submitted and responses to this notice must be submitted in writing via email to tyrone.lewis@ssa.gov, no later than March 16th, 2012 at 12:00 noon EST. NO PHONE CALLS OR FAXES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
