Texas employers have identified a lack of workforce readiness skills, especially in individuals who are new to the workforce. A lack of such skills presents a consistent challenge in the hiring and retention of employees. The purpose of the Workforce Readiness Training for Career and Technical (CTE) Students program is to create new or expand existing Workforce Readiness Training programs used by Local Education Agencies (LEAs), employers, and other community partners; and develop, implement, and support training designed to build CTE students’ workforce readiness skills.
