AI Contract Overview

The Deployment Staging Area Finger Pier Expansion project, managed by Navfacsyscom Southeast for the Department of Defense at NAS Jacksonville, involves the integrated construction of a deployment staging area and a finger pier expansion. Because these two components are physically connected, the contract emphasizes strict coordination and phasing to prevent construction activities, such as pile driving and heavy equipment traffic, from damaging newly completed sections. By procuring these projects together, the agency aims to streamline the management of material laydown areas and equipment staging. The scope of work includes the installation of new perimeter fencing, lighting additions in Area C, gravel overlays in Areas B, C, and D, and the construction of a new guardhouse and gates. The pier expansion specifically requires driven piles, the installation of the pier structure with precast planks, and a concrete topping for the deck surface, with a new ramp designed according to AASHTO bridge standards. Additionally, the project necessitates the replacement of existing water and sewer lines serving the pier and the installation of at least one new floodlight.
