Y--Flood Control, Mississippi River and Tributaries, Mississippi River, Stone Dike Construction and Maintenance, Willow Cutoff, LA, RM 462.7-R, AHP, and Racetrack Towhead, MS-LA, RM 431.5-R, AHP

The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment, raising and extending two (2) existing dikes and constructing a longitudinal peak stone toe dike at Willow Cutoff in East Carroll Parish, LA, and raising and extending five (5) existing dikes at Racetrack Towhead in Warren County, MS-Madison Parish, LA. Principal features of the work include mobilization and demobilization; furnishing, delivering, and placing Graded Stone quote mark A quote mark and Graded Stone quote mark C quote mark ; grubbing and snagging; and environmental protection. This work will be performed in the Mississippi River and varying water depths and currents may be encountered. Currents usually encountered at the sites of the work during low water period may vary from about one mile per hour to about six miles per hour. Construction of the dikes will require both floating plant and land based equipment. The work shall be completed as expeditiously as possible even though river conditions may become increasingly severe as construction progresses.
