HSTR GW and FW Roof Replacement

The National Park Service plans to issue a Request for Proposal for roof replacement and wood eave repairs at the Frank Wallace and George Wallace Houses within the Harry S Truman National Historic Site in Independence, Missouri. The project involves removing the existing asphalt shingle roofs and inspecting underlying structures for damage such as moist areas, mildew, or rot, with necessary mitigation efforts. Repair or replacement of flashing, drip edges, underlayment, and installation of new asphalt shingles will follow. Additionally, approximately 30 square feet of wood rot on the soffit and fascia of each home will be repaired or replaced, with all new wood primed and painted before installation. The contract is a firm-fixed price type, valued between $100,000 and $250,000, with award expected by June 2026 and work commencing in late summer 2026. This procurement is set aside entirely for total small businesses under NAICS code 238160, with a size standard of $19 million. Construction wage rates applicable in Jackson County, Missouri, will govern the project. Evaluation criteria include technical capability, prior experience, and price. Offerors are encouraged to participate in a site visit scheduled upon solicitation release to better understand project requirements and site conditions.
