(a) The annual maintenance dredging contract for the Philadelphia to the Sea project will be performed in conjunction with the new work contract (b) New Work Dredging shall include dredging of New Castle Range channel to a depth of 47 feet MLLW plus 1-foot allowable over depth within the contract work limits from Station 226+000 to 234+000. Cherry Island, Deepwater Point, Bulkhead Bar and New Castle Ranges channel to a depth of 45-feet MLLW plus 1-foot allowable over depth within the contract work limits from Station 182+000 to 225+000. 1V to 3H side slopes will be required. In areas of overlap with the maintenance dredging, the new work parameters shall take precedent. (c) Maintenance Dredging will occur in the following Ranges of the Delaware River channel from stations 65+000 to 237+000: Mifflin, Marcus Hook, Cherry Island, and New Castle. Dredging will be required to a depth of 44 feet Mean Lower Low Water Datum (MLLW) plus 1-foot allowable over depth within the contract work limits from Station 65+000 to Station 72+000 and from Station 167+000 to Station 174+000. Dredging will be required to a depth of 43 feet MLLW plus 1-feet allowable over depth within the contract work limits from Station 117+000 to Station 129+000 and from Station 225+000 to Station 237+000. Over depth dredging shall be limited by a vertical plane through the required depth contour. No side slopes or end slopes are specified for the base contract. In areas of overlap with new work dredging, the new work side slope parameters shall take precedents. Dredging will be required to a distance of 25 feet outside the channel limits. (d) Hopper or bucket dredging shall not be permitted under this contract. (e) The Government-furnished disposal areas available for use under the new work portion of the contract are Killcohook Area 1 and Reedy point south. The Government-furnished disposal areas available for use under the maintenance portion of the contract are Killcohook Area 1 and Pedricktown South. Solicitation Number W912BU-09-B-0005 will be issued on or about Jun 26 June 2009 with a bid opening date of 28 July 2009. Estimated cost range of the project is $10,000,000.00 to $25,000,000.00. The NAICS Code for this project is 237990 (SIC 1629) with a size standard of $20 million.
