Z--Remodel Golden Spike Visitor Center

The Department of the Interior’s Northern Rockies Major Acquisition Office is preparing a firm-fixed-price contract solicitation (No. 140P1426R0012) for the comprehensive remodeling of the 4,500-square-foot Visitor Center at Golden Spike National Historic Park, located in Wyoming. Originally constructed in 1968, the project scope involves modernizing aging electrical and HVAC systems, implementing energy-efficient lighting, abating hazardous materials such as asbestos and lead paint, and upgrading fire protection and communication infrastructure. The contract period of performance is projected from mid-October 2026 through the end of December 2027. The solicitation is expected to be issued on SAM.gov in mid-2026, following an earlier sources sought notice issued in March 2026 to gather capability statements from qualified contractors. Although detailed contract clauses, attachments, evaluation criteria, and specific technical standards have yet to be released, compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and federal acquisition rules for construction contracting is anticipated.
