The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has a project entitled Upgrade 4-I Incinerator and Upgrade Wing 4-I for Biocontainment at USDA-ARS-MWA-National Animal Disease Center (NADC), Ames, IA. The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work for repairs and upgrades to the existing incinerator located at Building 4; the construction of a penthouse above Wing 4I to house relocated and new mechanical equipment and piping systems that serve the incinerator and charging rooms; the relocation of existing equipment and piping systems from the charging room; and the replacement of the waste loading scale. The project will include a base bid with 4 bid options. The period of performance is 140 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $500,000 to $750,000. SET-ASIDE: This acquisition will be procured as a full and open competition under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All responsible Businesses may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS code is 236210 and the annual size standard is 31 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-17. Solicitation No. AG-5114-S-07-AA11 is scheduled for uploading on or about July 26, 2007. The solicitation will be posted on the FedBizOpps website at www.fedbizopps.gov.
