Z1DA--LOADING DOCK CONCRETE REPAIRS

The Central Virginia Health Care System (CVHCS) intends to solicit offers for construction services to repair and reconstruct the existing loading dock platform and stair system at the Richmond VA Medical Center, Richmond Campus. Work will include demolition of failed concrete, removal and replacement of damaged reinforcement steel, reconstruction of loading dock structural components, installation of new concrete and safety features, and application of protective concrete sealants. All work shall be performed per VA Design Guides, VA Master Specifications, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Period of Performance: Approximately 90 calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed.
Project Description: The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and expertise necessary to fully repair and reconstruct the loading dock platform stairs, treads, risers, reinforcement steel, and associated structural components. Scope includes demolition of damaged concrete, removal of deteriorated rebar, forming and reconstruction, installation of steel dowels and #4 reinforcement, placement of 3500 PSI concrete, installation of safety bumpers and yellow safety tread markings, broom finishing, sealing of repaired surfaces, and full compliance with VA and OSHA safety requirements. The contractor shall also ensure debris removal, barricading of work area, adherence to PPE protocols, proper delivery coordination, and compliance with all VA safety, structural, and life-safety requirements. Final acceptance will include a walkthrough with the COR and verification of compliance with VA structural safety standards.
Solicitation Details: A Request for Quotes (RFQ) is contemplated in accordance with FAR Part 13. A response time of approximately 30 days is anticipated following issuance of the solicitation. This acquisition will be issued pursuant to FAR 36.204(b) Magnitude of Construction, which is estimated to be between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation, Statement of Work, wage determination, and all other applicable documents will be available electronically on SAM.gov on or about October 7, 2026. No email, fax, or telephone inquiries will be accepted as a result of this announcement. No additional information regarding scope, dates, or related details will be made available until issuance of the solicitation. A pre-bid conference/site visit will be announced in the solicitation; no additional site visits will be conducted. Once posted, it is the contractor's responsibility to review SAM.gov frequently for any amendments or updates.
