The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, is set to procure specific quantities of Dupont Engineering Resin Zytel, Nylon 6/6, with two distinct types: Type 42A-NC totaling 26,448 pounds and Type FE-3071 totaling 19,836 pounds. These polymers are essential components for producing fibers used in certain official documents as part of an ongoing program at Natick. The government prefers a single firm-fixed-price purchase order awarded to E.I. DuPont DeNemours & Co., the sole known supplier capable of meeting the specified requirements. The resins have been utilized by Natick for over five years with no suitable alternatives identified. Delivery terms are set as F.O.B. Destination. This procurement falls under the Standard Industrial Classification code 2821, with a small business size standard of 750. Any inquiries regarding this synopsis can be directed to the designated contract specialist, Ms. Roberta Boswell. A notable amendment has reduced the response time for questions from 45 days to 10 days, signaling an expedited procurement timeline. The purchase aims to maintain continuity and quality in the production of polymer-based fibers crucial to the Army's operational needs.
