Maintenance & Install/Remove of DEA owned Motorola radios

The Drug Enforcement Administration plans to enter into a sole source contract with Motorola, Inc. for maintenance and installation services related to DEA-owned Motorola radios used in their telecommunications systems across worldwide locations. This contract, aligned with the Commercial Item provisions of FAR Part 12, is justified on the basis that Motorola is the only responsible source capable of providing the necessary services. The contract will have a one-year base period starting October 9, 2008, through October 8, 2009, with four subsequent annual option periods, structured as a requirements type contract to accommodate varying service demands. The procurement has been carefully documented with a Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition on file, following an initial Request for Information process that supported the sole source decision. Managed through the Department of Justice headquarters in Springfield, VA, this contract aims to ensure continuous support and upkeep of critical radio communications equipment vital for DEA operations. The point of contact for this procurement is Connie Jones, who can provide additional details if needed.
