Award Synopsis: GradeSpeed Renewal License

The contract awarded on January 11, 2018, by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) involves the renewal of licenses, maintenance, and support for the PowerSchool Gradespeed system, a vendor-hosted online electronic gradebook. This system is utilized by approximately 6,500 teachers across elementary and secondary schools to enter and manage student grades and progress reports. Additionally, the platform supports around 80,000 students and parents by providing access to a text-messaging module and parent portal, ensuring continuous communication and engagement. The decision to continue with PowerSchool Gradespeed was influenced by challenges faced during attempts to transition to older versions of the Aspen Student Information System, emphasizing the need for consistency in grade reporting system-wide. The contract, valued at $308,510, is a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 519130. The contracting office is located at DoDEA Procurement Division in Alexandria, Virginia, which is also the place of performance. The work supports DoDEA’s ongoing commitment to maintaining efficient and reliable grade reporting tools for its educational staff and stakeholders. John Baggett is the contracting officer overseeing this action, and the contract reflects DoDEA’s preference to maintain the existing technology platform to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and data integrity.
