DIA ATCT Modernization

This project involves the modernization and refurbishment of the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Traffic Control Tower and Base Building at Denver International Airport. With an estimated value between 5 million and 10 million dollars, the scope focuses on completing facility upgrades that were previously interrupted. Because the tower is a 24/7 operational facility, all work must be sequenced to avoid interrupting air traffic operations, which may necessitate night work and strict coordination regarding elevator usage and service interruptions. The comprehensive scope of work includes architectural upgrades such as replacing interior finishes, remediating mold, and ensuring ABA/ADA compliance for restrooms and signage. Fire and life safety improvements involve restoring fire-rated walls, replacing doors, and upgrading fire suppression and alarm systems. Extensive mechanical overhauls are required, including the replacement of numerous air-handling units, boilers, and pumps, as well as the installation of a redundant temporary boiler plant. Electrical work will support these new installations through additional receptacles, telecommunications outlets, and panel modifications to meet FAA and code compliance.
