THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT JULY 1, 2013 Description of Work: All Offerors to this solicitation SHALL have a valid award to the 2013 Oregon Department of Forestry Interagency Firefighting Crew Agreement. Offerors shall provide a copy of their agreement along with their offer. All individuals and equipment offered shall have been accepted and approved on above mentioned agreement in order for offer to be valid. This contract is designed to provide wildland firefighting crew services including preparedness, pre-suppression, initial attack, containment, mop-up and patrol on fires within the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest initial attack response areas. Preparedness activities may include fuels management work such as slashing, lopping and scattering, pruning, fuel modification zone construction and maintenance, hand piling and covering slash, pre-burn fireline construction and maintenance, fuels pullback, prescribed burning and mop-up, brushing roads and trails, activities related to burned area rehabilitation and restoration, and other normal Forest Service activities for laborers. A 10-person crew shall consist of 1 Crew Boss (CRWB), 1 Squad Boss Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1), and 8 Firefighter Type-2's (FFT2). During the performance period of August 5 through October 30, 2013, Contractor's crew shall be available to perform Fire Preparedness activities. The period during which work will actually be performed will be dependent on fire season severity and will be designated by the Government in a written task order(s). There is no guarantee of full-time work for the entire performance period. Availability of contractor's crew outside the performance period is optional and will become effective upon acceptance of a task order by the Contractor.
