12--MK57 NATO SEASPARROW MISSILE SYSTEM

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) to, Raytheon Service Company, 12555 Ellsmere Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23513. Orders will be issued on multiple occasions over the period of the (BOA) to obtain all necessary materials and services to overhaul, repair, perform Pierside Maintenance, modify and/or update components or parts of the MK57 NATO SeaSparrow Missile S ystem (NSSMS), MK23 Target Acquisition System (TAS) and related test and support equipment at the Surface Warfare Evaluation Facility (SWEF), Portsmouth Land Base Test Site (LBTS) and the Norfolk, Raytheon NSSMS Integration facility for overhauls. This effort shall include, but is not limited to inspection of equipment, installation/deinstallation, repair, performance of all testing in accordance the latest QAPS, associated training, packaging/packing/marking and program reporting/liaison/coordination with industry/Government and storage pending final destination disposition instructions. Orders will be issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Raytheon is the sole source designer, developer and producer of the MK 57 NSSMS and continues to provide support for all variants of the MK 57 NSSMS. Raytheon's expertise, knowledge, and facilities for the MK 57 NSSMS uniquely qualifi es it as the only contractor capable of providing the supplies and services required by the Navy in the time specified.
