Full Description

The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source contract to Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems, 1847 West Main Road, Portsmouth, Rhode Island, for the purchase of four (4) MK20 Mod 0 missile canisters for the Government of Japan under a Foreign Military Sale. Raytheon is the designer and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the MK48 Guided Missile Vertical Launch System (GMVLS) of which the MK20 canister is a component. Raytheon has been the sole source for the MK48 GMVLS and is the only source with the requisite expertise, knowledge, experience and facilities necessary to provide the continued production of MK48 GMVLS and its components.
