The 542d Combat Sustainment Wing, in conjunction with HQ AFMC/A4BW, is offering a specialized course titled LOG 132 For Contractors from October 24 to 26, 2006, aimed at defense contractors involved in repair work for the Air Force. This class is designed to provide contractors with an in-depth understanding of the Air Logistic Centers’ processes for obtaining and managing repair contracts. The curriculum covers critical areas such as budget preparation for future workloads, managing performance-based contracts, asset management, and decision-making regarding in-house versus contracted work. The course also emphasizes fostering better collaboration by cross-training repair administrators from both the Air Force and contractor sides, thereby improving future operational cooperation. The three-day program features a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on industry exposure, including tours of repair facilities to illustrate the contractor’s perspective. Participants will engage in sessions on program management, item and production management, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and performance-based services. The course particularly benefits program managers, contract administrators, order administrators, and business development professionals. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Bill Sirmon by October 10, 2006, to participate. This initiative reflects a commitment to enhancing mutual understanding and efficiency in managing Air Force repair contracts.
