U.S. Special Operations Command intends to award a sole-source contract to KW Microwave Corporation for the procurement of Microwave Bandpass Filters. These components are essential for the sustainment of Radar Altimeter systems used on MH-47 and MH-60 helicopters, as well as other aircraft fielded for the command. Because the government does not possess the necessary specifications and drawings to allow for full and open competition, the acquisition is being pursued under FAR 6.302-1. The solicitation is expected to be released on March 2, 2006, with delivery terms set as FOB Destination. While the government intends to negotiate with a single source, other capable firms are encouraged to identify themselves before the deadline. No suitable substitutes for the required parts will be authorized or accepted.
