Solicitation SPRPA118QV264, issued by the Department of Defense through the DLA Aviation office in Philadelphia, is for the procurement of four wheel and tire assemblies under NSN 7R-1680-016199170-P8 and reference number 277A6000-521. The contract is designated as FOB Origin and falls under NAICS code 326211. Due to the flight critical nature of the items and a lack of sufficient technical data available for open competition, the government requires source approval prior to contract award. Only previously approved sources were solicited, and any new applicants must provide comprehensive technical data as outlined in the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures to be considered for award. The procurement process included several modifications, most notably Amendment 0003, which adjusted the offer receipt deadline to October 11, 2019, and significantly reduced the required quantity from 106 to 72 units while canceling specific CLINs. Because drawings are not available, the government emphasizes that failure to provide required source approval documentation will result in the offer not being considered. The primary point of contact for this requirement is John Collier.
