1908, 1930 & 1940 Frederica LED Lighting Upgrades

The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) is soliciting bids for the provision of all labor, materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to perform LED lighting upgrades at 1908, 1930, and 1940 West Frederica Street in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The scope of work includes the removal of existing fixtures and the installation of new LED lighting across residential units, common areas, stairs, entrances, and outdoor lighting systems. All project work must be completed by December 18, 2026. The contractor is responsible for providing shop drawings, obtaining necessary permits, and ensuring all installations comply with the Ontario Building Code, the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Eligible bidders must submit electronic proposals by September 30, 2026. Award evaluation is based on total base cost, though TBDSSAB is not obligated to accept the lowest priced bid and may conduct interviews with selected bidders. Mandatory requirements for the successful contractor include maintaining comprehensive general liability insurance of at least five million dollars, providing a WSIB Clearance Certificate, and ensuring all equipment is certified by the CSA, FCC, or ULC. Payment will be issued within thirty business days of receiving a proper monthly invoice. The contractor must also provide spare inventory for previously upgraded fixtures and ensure all work adheres to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
