NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed Bids for the Salt Shed Replacement Project will be received by Exeter Township via the PennBID Online bidding service, until 2:00 P.M. (prevailing time) September 10, 2026, at which time and place the bids will be opened.
The project consists of the following items: Base Bid: Parking Lot Excavation, 260 C.Y., 2,700 S.Y. of Superpave Base Course, 25 mm, 2,700 S.Y. of Superpave Wearing Course, 9.5 mm, Demolition of Existing Salt Shed, Construction of New Salt Shed, Construction of New Metal Building, stormwater inlets and piping, and Site Restoration.
Sets of Contract Documents and Drawings may be obtained only from the PennBID web application. No partial sets of documents will be distributed. Bidders must obtain documents through the PennBID web application in order to be considered a responsive Bidder.
Either a Certified Check or a Bid Bond drawn to the order of Exeter Township, respectively, in the amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid as bid security.
Successful Bidder should be expected to execute and file the proposed contract and to furnish and pay for performance, payment, and other bonds in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as security for the performance and payment of all costs thereof within ten (10) days after the issuance of the intent to award of the contract.
All Bids shall be submitted in accordance with the INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS, Paragraph 14 – BID SUBMISSION.
Exeter Township hereby reserves the right, which is understood and agreed to by all Bidders, to reject any or all Bids submitted; and also reserves the right to waive any informality in Bids received, but any contract awarded will be to the lowest responsible, qualified Bidder.
The Pennsylvania State Prevailing Wage Rates will apply to this project. All bidders must be prequalified with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and must submit a current, Prequalification Certificate, with the Bid Form. Prequalification requirements shall be in accordance with 67 PA Code, Chapter 457, Regulations Governing Prequalification’s of Prospective Bidders.
Bidders must be prequalified for the classification code for the type of work to be performed for the project being bid.
Except as otherwise provided by law, no Bidder may withdraw their Bid within sixty (60) consecutive days after the actual date of opening thereof, or one hundred twenty (120) consecutive calendar days if the award is delayed by a required approval of another governmental agency, the sale of bonds, or the award of grant or grants.
A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Exeter Township building, address listed above, on September 3, 2026 at 10:00 A.M.
