2026 Guiderail Improvement Program

The City of St. Catharines is soliciting tenders for Project P26-085, the 2026 Guiderail Improvement Program, which involves the supply of all labor, equipment, and materials for the installation, repair, and replacement of steel beam guide rails and end treatment systems. The scope of work specifically includes improvements at Bunting Road and Lincoln Avenue, featuring the installation of TL-2 MASH sequential kinking terminals, reflective hazard marker signs, and the removal of concrete sidewalks in compliance with the Ontarians with Disabilities Act. The project is governed by the Niagara Peninsula Standard Contract Document (Revision 27) and must adhere to OPSS.MUNI 721 and 732 standards, as well as the Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7 for traffic management. Requirements for submission include a bid bond of $9,000.00, and the successful bidder must provide performance and labor and material payment bonds each valued at 50% of the contract amount within 14 days of acceptance. While the estimated tender price is $100,000.00, the final award will be based on quoted unit prices, though the City reserves the right to select a bidder other than the lowest cost based on past performance and references. All work must be completed in accordance with OSHA standards, and contractors are responsible for obtaining all necessary underground utility locates.
