The 2026 NDAT Community Ambassador Program, initiated by the City of Sacramento’s Neighborhood Development Action Team, aims to foster trust and engagement within culturally and linguistically diverse communities that have historically been underrepresented. The program seeks to recruit 18 community ambassadors—individuals or organizations already active in outreach efforts—who will serve as liaisons between the City and their communities. These ambassadors will work to promote City services, share information, and gather community feedback, thereby helping to eliminate language and cultural barriers to access. The program runs from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, with participants expected to dedicate approximately 100-120 hours annually, including monthly meetings, quarterly training sessions, and community engagement activities. Compensation includes a $6,000 stipend for the year, with additional funds available for translation, interpretation, and culturally relevant outreach projects, which can be funded up to $1,500. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate strong community ties, multilingual capabilities, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles. The program emphasizes collaboration, community capacity building, and equitable revitalization efforts, with a focus on building sustainable relationships and gathering valuable insights from community members. Interested individuals or organizations must submit their applications by October 31, 2025, and can find further details regarding roles, responsibilities, and the application process through provided documents and contact information. The City aims to leverage community expertise to enhance outreach effectiveness and ensure that all residents have equitable access to resources and opportunities within Sacramento.
