2026 Slurry Seal

The Corporation of the Township of Ramara is soliciting quotations for the 2026 Slurry Seal project, specifically for the application of a slurry seal treatment to approximately 10,715 square metres of Birch Drive. The objective of the project is to extend the service life of the roadway and protect existing asphalt infrastructure. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and traffic control, ensuring that the work conforms to Ontario Provincial Standard Specification OPSS 337 and ISSA A105 requirements. Key operational constraints include a maximum mixing time of four minutes and an application speed not exceeding 60 metres per minute. Work is permitted Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Submission of quotations must be completed electronically via the Bids and Tenders system by October 5, 2026. Mandatory eligibility requirements include a current WSIB Clearance and a Domestic Supply Chain Commitment Plan pledging 100% domestic content from Ontario and Canada. Bidders must also provide three professional references and disclose all subcontractors. The Township reserves the right to accept a bid other than the lowest provided it meets the pass/fail compliance criteria. Successful contractors must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance of at least five million dollars and automobile liability insurance of two million dollars. Payment is based on the quantity of slurry seal applied and accepted, with the requirement that each monthly invoice be accompanied by a Domestic Supply Chain Commitment Plan Compliance Declaration.
