2027 SYSTEMS ENGINEERING & INTEGRATION SUPPORT SERVICES

The U.S. Government, through Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), intends to award a sole-source contract to BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services, Inc. of Rockville, MD, for comprehensive Systems Engineering and Integration support services critical to the Trident II (D5) Strategic Weapons System and related nuclear deterrence programs. This contract encompasses a broad spectrum of technical functions including sustainment and integration for the Strategic Submarine Guided Nuclear Attack Weapon System, Nuclear Weapon Surety, Integrated Nuclear Weapons Security System, the Columbia Common Missile Compartment, Conventional Prompt Strike, and the Submarine-Launched Cruise Missile–Nuclear program. It also includes fleet support for U.S. and United Kingdom platforms such as the Vanguard and Dreadnought classes, encompassing training, documentation development, facility sustainment, and infrastructure operations tied to Model-Based Engineering and Information Systems modernization. The contractor is selected under FAR 6.103 due to its unique and irreplaceable institutional knowledge, specialized workforce, and exclusive experience with these highly classified, complex nuclear systems, which no other entity possesses in sufficient depth or breadth. The initial performance period runs from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027, with four one-year option periods that, if exercised, extend the contract through September 30, 2031. The Government retains the option to increase the level of effort by up to 30%. Work will be executed across multiple domestic and international locations, including Strategic Weapons Facilities in the Pacific and Atlantic, UK shipyards such as Faslane and DML Plymouth, and shore-based support sites.
