The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is soliciting proposals from firms that are able to provide the services herein described. Proposals must address all the services outlined in Exhibit A, entitled Scope of Work. The contractor will identify 10-16 local oral health programs (LOHPs) from regions in California with the highest rates of tooth decay among children, specifically in the Central Valley and Northern California. The contractor will provide technical assistance (TA) to the identified LOHPs for two 18-month cycles, with between five and eight LOHPs engaged during each cycle, to implement communication, accountability, and sustainability strategies. The TA provided by the contractor will be centered around building the capacity of LOHPs to launch, maintain, and extend preschool and school dental programs (SDPs) in the counties/communities they serve. The contractor will organize learning opportunities for participating LOHPs to meet and discuss successes, challenges/barriers, and lessons learned related to SDPs, as well as learn from similar programs proven effective in California and nationally.
