The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) at Fort Belvoir, VA, plans to issue a sole source purchase order to Sirchie Vehicle Division for modifying an existing Mobile Command Vehicle for the DES Logistics Command at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. The modification involves installing a bump-out on the right rear of the vehicle to expand its interior from the middle door to the back. This process requires the removal of all existing structures and equipment in the affected area, followed by reinstallation to ensure full functionality. The vehicle's original manufacturer warranty, held by Sirchie, would be voided if modifications were made by any other party, justifying the sole source action under regulation 6.302-1. The anticipated contract performance period is from August 1 to September 30, 2013. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a solicitation for competitive bids. The Government emphasizes that any competition must demonstrate clear and convincing advantages, but it reserves the right to issue a Request for Proposal if deemed necessary. The contract falls under the NAICS code 336211 (Motor Vehicle Body Manufacturing). The point of contact for this acquisition is Jennifer Cera of MICC, and this announcement may represent the only public notice of this procurement.
