31--ECCENTRIC SHOULDER BEARINGS

NASA/JSC has a requirement for Eccentric Shoulder Bearings.NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from Air-Lock Inc. The deliverables/productsrequire expert suit hardware experience in the preparation, maintenance, and operationsof the MK-III prototype space suit hardware components. Air-Lock Inc. initially developedthe requested hardware on a Small Business Innovative Research grant and then refined theproduct using internal resources after the SBIR activity was completed. Air-Lock is theonly company with the eccentric bearing design that can be built quickly and effectivelyto meet the Governments testing needs. Air-Lock, Inc. is the only vendor with the dataand design rights to the MK-III hardware components. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Miyoshi Thompson at contact@example.gov not later than 4:30p.m. local time on May 13, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluatedsolely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
