Full Description

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 13.106-1(b) - Soliciting From A Single Source and FAR 6.302-1 - Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Army Contracting Command (ACC)-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Tenant Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following service: Semi-annual maintenance and calibration on Proto-Trax 2-axis Digital Read-outs, QTY: 70 axis Maintenance and Calibration for Tool Room lathe, QTY: 3 Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price, sole source contract to Southwestern Industries, Inc. Southwestern has the proprietary rights to and are the sole manufacturer and distributor of the equipment. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811310 and the Business Size Standard is $7.0 million. Southwestern Industries, Inc. currently has the contract to provide maintenance and calibration for the equipment. All responses received within four(4) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Time, Thursday, August, 23, 2012. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
