Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) proposes various improvements within the California Department of Transportation’s (Caltrans) right of way along State Route 299 in Shasta County from post mile (PM) 20.87 to 21.82 near Redding as part of their Undergrounding and Wildfire System Hardening Program. PG&E’s 10K mile wildfire system hardening and undergrounding proposes to enter state highway right of way to replace overhead conductor(s), replace pole(s), install new poles, install new conductor, install anchors, install new overhead conductors, and conduct vegetation management work. Vegetation work will include: 21 tree points (394 total units) proposed for vegetation work. There are 18 brush removal points (391 units), and 1 tree trim point (1 unit) and 2 tree removal points (2 units) located inside Caltrans right of way. All work will be conducted Monday -Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Work requiring traffic control will be performed using the Caltrans pre-approved T-Sheets for example T13 when applicable.
