37th Street NE Stormwater Management Facility

A regional stormwater management facility is proposed within the northwest quadrant of 37th St NE and East River Rd NE, immediately south of Foster-Arend Park. The proposed stormwater management facility will include an offline infiltration basin with a large wet sedimentation basin that will serve as pretreatment for the infiltration basin. This stormwater management facility is intended to provide water quality treatment for the 500-plus acre watershed that it serves via infiltration, thus reducing the volume of stormwater runoff and sediment conveyed to the South Fork Zumbro River and providing stormwater water quality treatment credits for approximately 90 acres. The project will also address the conveyance of stormwater between the proposed stormwater facility and the South Fork Zumbro River while maintaining trail connectivity through the parcel. The project consists of a large quantity of common excavation which will require hauling and disposal of material offsite at a location secured by the contractor. There are also two large cast in place concrete baffled chute spillways proposed at the two inlets into the proposed stormwater management facility. A large sheet pile outlet control structure is proposed and included in the project. The project also includes large diameter storm sewer installation.
